Nickapella turning heads with new EP
Reggae artiste Nickapella has been making serious noise across Caribbean territories this summer with his ‘Show Love’ EP.
Released in April, the album has evolved from a promising debut into a global phenomenon, cementing his status as one of the most exciting voices in contemporary Caribbean music. That momentum quickly transcended borders, with the EP climbing to No. 2 on the Cayman Islands Reggae Albums Chart, No. 11 on the Cayman Islands Overall Albums Chart, and No. 12 on the Canada Reggae Albums Chart – a rare feat for an independent release in today’s competitive streaming landscape.
“What started as an April 2026 release has become a sustained global movement. The fans are really gravitating towards the songs right now. Big respect to the fans,” Nickapella said.
It is the kind of regional wave that shows that Nickapella has a firm grip on what moves the reggae crowd right now.
“We put a lot of work into making Show Love a work that reggae fans can appreciate and love all over the world,” Nickapella said.
The seven-track project, which masterfully balances melodic reggae with island-inspired rhythms and modern production, achieved a historic No. 1 position on the US iTunes Reggae Albums Chart shortly after its release and is still appearing on the top 100 charts months later.
Kirk Ford aka Koolface, who is a well-known Billboard songwriter and producer, hailed Nickapella’s work.
“From the title track to standout cuts like Little Bit, Fire, Rider, and Need It, the EP demonstrates Nickapella’s remarkable range,” Koolface said.
The EP’s striking red-and-black heart motif artwork has become instantly recognisable, reinforcing a brand identity as bold as the music itself. With themes of romance, ambition, and self-expression woven throughout, Show Love resonates with reggae loyalists and international mainstream audiences alike.
As Nickapella continues to build on this momentum, the EP stands as a testament to what independent artistes can achieve when craft meets vision.
