One love does it
Portmore United exacted revenge on UWI FC in a 3-0 win in their Red Stripe Premier League football competition yesterday, while a single goal was enough to ensure victory for most teams.
Jevaughn East opened the scoring in the 30th minute and notched a second in the 46th before Rodian Jennings, in the 76th, gave the team a 3-0 win over UWI, who handed them one of their only defeats this season.
Elsewhere, 1-0 wins were the order of the day, as Harbour View, Reno, Montego Bay, and Rivoli all had single-goal victories over their opponents.
Denmark Gillings was on target for Reno in the 22nd in their 1-0 win over Tivoli Gardens at the Edward Seaga Sports Complex.
Owayne Gordon's 61st-minute goal gave former champions Montego Bay United a 1-0 win over Boys' Town at Wespow Park in St James.
Cory Burke scored a goal in the 31st minute for Rivoli United, who defeated Cavalier 1-0 at Drax Hall in St Ann.
Rosario Harriott scored the winner for Harbour View in the 49th minute as they stopped hosts Waterhouse 1-0 at the Waterhouse Mini Stadium.
Action continues tonight in the Monday-night game at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex. Arnett Gardens play host to Humble Lion, starting at 8:40 p.m.
